Managed Access Trails (VITs)
Very Important Trails (VITs) or Managed Access Trails are sections of the trail that may require a permit, guide, or permission to access, and that the Ridge Trail Council is able to gain access to for outings. See our Managed Access Trails page to learn more about how to visit these trails.
Planning Navigator
The Planning Navigator provides information on each dedicated Ridge Trail section and useful links to maps, land manager websites, trail apps, and trailhead and parking locations. Additional information includes elevation change, trail surface, accessibility notes where available, allowable uses (hiking, mountain biking, equestrian), shuttling logistics, permit requirements, dog notes, camping and more.
