The Skyline Watershed Ridge Trail is your gateway to the Peninsula Watershed, a State-designated Fish and Game Refuge spanning 23,000 beautiful acres across San Mateo County. As you travel down the rolling ridgeline trail, you’ll take in sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, San Francisco Bay and Crystal Springs Reservoir. Keep going and you’ll find yourself under the shade of towering redwood trees.
This is an out-and-back trail, with no access apart from the trailhead at the northern end. This trail is not yet connected to adjacent Ridge Trail sections. There is no pedestrian crossing of State Route 92.
Permit Required: To visit this trail, you’ll need to get a free, online permit. It only takes a couple minutes, and remains valid for the calendar year. Learn more on SFPUC’s website.
Water and Restrooms: There is no water available on this trail, and there are no restrooms at the trailhead. Vault toilets are located near mile markers 2 and 5.
Parking: Parking is free. Gates open at 6 am and close at 6 pm.
