Climb through oak and bay woodland to open grassland and experience expansive views to Mount Diablo, the Carquinez Strait, and beyond. This trail, a section of the Carquinez Strait Scenic Loop Trail, takes you from Mt. Wanda through John Muir Land Trust preserves—Sky Ranch, Dutra Ranch and Almond Ranch—and along the length of the currently accessible historic Contra Costa Feeder Trail #1. The route ends at a ranch on Ferndale Road (there is no parking available off Ferndale Road).
