In Petaluma, the Ridge Trail ventures through the rural Helen Putnam Regional Park. Park off Chilleno Valley Road and travel through the oak woodlands on this short trail. There is a 1-mile gap between Helen Putnam and the city route so it is recommended that circumnavigators complete this section with the City of Petaluma Ring Trail.
