Our Biggest Stewardship Event of the Year

For over 15 years, thousands of volunteers have pitched in on our biggest trail stewardship day of the year, Ridge Trail Service Day.
400+ miles is a lot of trail to care for, and we need your help to keep it in tip-top shape! Show the Ridge Trail some love and join one of the many projects we host around the Bay Area with our park and open space partners.

The Ridge Trail is partnering with the Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful for a fun day of trail work at Coyote Creek Trail! Activities will include a community clean up. Litter kits are provided. Groups are welcome.Minimum age:

Sonoma County Regional Parks and the Redwood Trails AllianceDescription:
The Ridge Trail is partnering with Sonoma County Regional Parks and the Redwood Trails Alliance for a fun day of trail work at Helen Putnam Regional Park! Activities will include: repairing and improving a portion of the Park's Ridge Trail that has drainage problems. We will adjust the slope of the trail add erosion control structures, and armor the surface with gravel.Minimum age:

Marin County Open Space DistrictDescription:
The Ridge Trail is partnering with the Marin County Open Space District for a fun day of trail work at Indian Tree Preserve! Activities will include: Clearing out water bars, clear dips, trim vegetation from trail corridor and possibly install a puncheon. We use hand tools which require a fair amount of strength and stamina. We will work on uneven terrain. The work is recommended for people with a moderate to high level of fitness.Minimum age:

The Ridge Trail is partnering with the Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District for a fun day of trail work at Skyline Wilderness Park! Activities will include the use of hand tools to decomissioning social trails and reworking existing line.Minimum age:

The Ridge Trail is partnering with the San Francisc Recreation and Parks for a fun day of trail work at Twin Peaks! We will be improving sections of the Ridge Trail that pass over Twin Peaks. Project will include brushing vegetation in the trail corridor and basic trail tread maintenance.Minimum age:

Land Trust of Napa CountyDescription:
The Ridge Trail is partnering with the Land Trust of Napa County for a fun day of trail work at Dunn-Wildlake Preserve. Activities will include: Maintaining the Three Peaks Shortcut Trail on the Dunn-Wildlake Preserve. Be prepared to hike up to 3 miles, which will include some uphill terrain with loose soils. We will be clearing rocks and plant debris off of this half mile section of trail which offers expansive views to the east of the preserve.Minimum age:

East Bay Regional Parks DistrictDescription:
The Ridge Trail is partnering with East Bay Regional Park Disctrict for a fun day of trail work at Anthony Chabot Regional Park! Activities will include: Improving the trail bench, install drainage features, and brush the trail corridor of the Willow View Trail. There will be an approx. 0.75 mile hike to the start of the worksite. We will be using hand tools to shape tread and drainage features.Minimum age:

Solano Trail Advocacy GroupDescription:
The Ridge Trail is partnering with the Solano Trail Advocacy Group for a fun day of trail work on the Benicia Buffer Trail! Activities will include: Filling a set of stairs. There are two sections on the trail that are eroded due to winter storms. We will be filling in these ruts and improve drainage to prevent further erosion.Minimum age:

The Ridge Trail is partnering with the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority for a fun day of trail work at Máyyan 'Ooyákma Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve. Activities will include completiong tread work using hand tools on a section of the Bay Checkerspot Trail.Minimum age:
