Saturday, January 25 – Join us for a 4 to 5 mile VIT* hike in Upper La Honda Creek in Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, near Woodside. Great views of the ocean and rolling grasslands abound.
*VIT = Very Important Trail. These are trails not currently open to the public, but the Ridge Trail has acquired special permission to enter.
Route Description: A casual hike through a rarely visited part of the preserve. Hike through redwoods, oaks and grasslands to a spectacular view out to the coast. While much of the hike is relatively flat, there are a few very steep sections.
Meeting Location: Sent at registration.
Miles: 4 – 5 Miles
Ascent: Approximately 900′
Time: 2 – 3 hours
Note on Fitness: Your safety starts with being honest about your fitness in accomplishing this hike within a reasonable time. If you don’t have recent experience accomplishing a hike of this distance and difficulty please consider joining us another time. There may be easier hikes through this area in the future 🙂

What is VIT?:
VIT stands for “very important trail”. Our VIT outings take place on trails which are a part of future Bay Area Ridge Trail alignment, but not currently open to the general public and / or require special permits. We arrange the access, guides, and shuttle (as needed). While you get to feel like a VIP.
