VIT Hike: Blue Oak Ranch

Join the Ridge Trail Council on this special VIT* hike to Blue Oak Ranch just east of San Jose. This unique hiking and biking opportunity that takes you through a spectacular research reserve between Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve and Joseph D. Grant County Park. Diverse natural resources and panoramic vistas of the South Bay reward hikers and bikers along this route. The Ridge Trail will provide guides and a shuttle.

*VIT = Very Important Trail. VIT hikes are your passport to visit 60 miles of special access trails through Ridge Trail guided outings.

About Blue Oak Ranch Reserve:
"The Blue Oak Ranch Reserve is used primarily as a scientific research site to conduct various investigations across the Earth and Life Sciences, Engineering, and Computer Sciences, as well as graduate student studies in the arts and humanities. Reserve’s staff are committed to protecting our 3,280 acres of natural resources and cultural heritage."

Note on Fitness:
Your safety starts with being honest about your fitness in accomplishing this hike within a reasonable time. If you don't have recent experience finishing a hike of this distance and difficulty, please consider joining us another time. There may be easier hikes through this area in the future 🙂

Cancelation Policy:
In order to get a full refund, you must cancel 1 week in advance of the event start date. Please email events@ridgetrail.org to make a cancelation. If the Ridge Trail cancels, you will receive a full refund.
