Over 600 volunteers enjoyed the perfect fall weather and great trail conditions for Ridge Trail Day on Saturday November 5. Volunteers built new trail, improved eroded tread, hauled tons (literally) of rocks and logs for retaining walls, planted trees, and cleaned up litter—collectively making a huge difference for the trail we love!

REI Co-Op staff brought t-shirts and raffle prizes, and asked everyone to #OptOutside with them on BlackFriday. REI also presented ceremonial checks, which were bigger than usual: this year, REI donated $180,000 to help the Ridge Trail Council build, promote, and steward the trail.
Volunteers like you are essential to the Ridge Trail as we work to connect a 550-mile loop on the ridgelines above San Francisco Bay. Today, 369 miles are open and protected for future generations. See more photos from the day on our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/ridgetrail
