The Bay Area Ridge Trail Council is pleased to announce the launch of their new website.
A fantastic team of professionals volunteered with the Taproot Foundation to design the new site after the Council was awarded a Taproot service grant.
In addition to modernized site navigation and an easy to use site, there are many great new features: an interactive map, access to downloadable trail maps, improved and more flexible Calendar, new sign-up forms for eNews and Volunteering, navigation allowing users to quickly make an online donation, and a search function (at the bottom of every page).
Maps, Maps, and More Maps!
The most requested feature for our old site was more and improved maps. We heard you! The new site features trail maps for all Ridge Trail segments open to the public, and an impressive new Interactive Map.
The Interactive map was created by dedicated Ridge Trail volunteer Joe Navratil, who put the Ridge Trail information into Google Maps. Site visitors can "fly" over the Ridge Trail, click on the trail segment they are interested in to access trail information and the corresponding map that users can download and print. You can easily display all of the Ridge Trail, or just the Ridge Trail where you can hike, bike or ride your horse.
